Energy North Launches First Annual Energy North Awards

Energy North, formerly North Scotland Industries Group (NSIG), is launching the first annual Energy North Awards to celebrate energy in Scotland.

The 130-plus member organization’s awards will recognize contribution to developing the energy industry in the Highlands and Islands region made by suppliers, brokers, product manufacturers, experts and consultants working in the oil and gas, fossil based energy, renewables or the nuclear industry.

The inaugural black tie ceremony will be held at Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on Thursday, September 29, 2011. Companies and individuals operating in the Highlands and Islands are invited to enter the awards, which close on Friday, September 2, under the following categories:

•    Best Oil & Gas Industry Service Supplier
•    Best Subsea Industry Service Supplier
•    Best Renewable Energy – Onshore
•    Best Renewable Energy – Offshore
•    Best Service Supply
•    Best Export Award
•    Best Pioneer Award
•    Energy North Ambassador Award

Commenting on the new awards, Energy North chief executive Ian Couper said: “The launch of the Energy North Awards marks an important step forward to increased recognition for energy businesses and the work they undertake in our area.

“At Energy North we’re passionate about promoting the Highlands and Islands region within the energy sector. The introduction of the awards, which are set to be an annual event, raises awareness of the key role the local area is playing and I would urge anyone with an interest to enter."
