ISS Advises of St. Lawrence Seaway Tolls Increase

March 19, 2013

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), a leading maritime services provider, is advising of a three per cent increase in St. Lawrence Seaway tolls in Canada for the 2013 shipping season.

The increase by The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation will be the first rise in five years and will take effect when the seaway opens on Friday 22nd March 2013.

The seaway saw a four per cent increase in cargo volume in 2012 to over 39 million tonnes which is believed to be a result of new trade patterns and an increase in market share by carriers.

Full details of costs and extensive additional information can be found on the Great Lakes St Lawrence Seaway System website.
