New Offshore Vessel Management Mobile App

August 20, 2014

Telerik says that its customer Bhagwan Marine, a leader in servicing the oil and gas industry, together with partner, Glenfield Digital Group, has released the first mobile app for offshore energy vessel management. 'LiveFleet'.

Telerik explains that Bhagwan Marine wanted to be the first to leverage technology to promote its business in a bold way, setting it apart from industry-standard four-color printed brochures. The company decided to pursue a mobile app that would organize extensive vessel information and specifications, show vessel location in real-time, offer push notifications, pictures and more. Also the app would help manage Bhagwan Marine’s 700 person workforce, a critical need since 90 percent of staffers work remotely.

Telerik was selected as the technology platform of choice. Initially leveraging the Telerik Sitefinity Web Content Management system (WCM), Bhagwan Marine was able to centralize fleet vessel data with a custom module it constructed for the web content management system. It then integrated it with the Telerik Platform and Telerik Kendo UI:

“Thanks to Glenfield Digital and Telerik, we can now have our complete fleet information at our fingertips, updated with real time tracking data directly to any mobile device,” said Bhagwan Marine Marketing Manager Matt Syms. “On-the-fly, we can produce print-ready technical vessel specification sheets. This was not possible before we implemented Telerik, and in the end, we’ve saved thousands by doing away with printed materials and brochures.”

The LiveFleet app is available from the Apple App Store and Google.Play
