Crowley’s Menard Promoted to VP of Risk Management

December 4, 2006

William Pennella, vice chairman and executive vice president of Crowley Maritime Corporation, announced today that Dwight Menard has been promoted to vice president of risk management effective Dec. 1. Menard will be responsible for the company’s global insurance program; management of Beacon Insurance Company, Ltd; supporting the risk management and insurance requirements of Crowley’s four business lines; allocation of insurance cost and administration/management of the claim, insurance and contract review/approval processes. Menard will remain domiciled in Jacksonville and report to Pennella.

Menard’s promotion is the final step in the two-year effort to consolidate Crowley’s risk management functions in Jacksonville, which involved the transfer of individuals and hiring of new risk management professionals for positions that were previously located in Secaucus, New Jersey and Oakland, Calif.

Also as part of the consolidation, Richard Dooley, manager, insurance accounting, will join Menard’s team and continue to provide critical support to the risk management process. Menard joined Crowley in 1987 as manager of claims in the company’s Jacksonville risk management department and over the years has held positions of increasing responsibility in risk management. He most recently has served as director of risk management. Menard earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in business management from University of Louisiana Lafayette and attained a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designation in 2001.
