After a 2-year stint at Bayonne Drydock to undergo $60m restoration and refurbishment efforts, the Intrepid will make its way back to Pier 86 . The voyage begins in and will pass the Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero as it makes its way next to Pier 86.  Intrepid will be led by a United States Coast Guard Cutter, and towed by the same McAllister tugboats that pulled it from its berth in 2006.  Bow-to-stern refurbishment projects included the modification of interior spaces, internal exhibition upgrades, as well as a new paint job.
