Korean Coast Guard Chooses MTU Propulsion

MTU has been chosen by the Korean Coast Guard (KCG) to provide propulsion and onboard power for a new class of patrol vessels in its ever expanding and modernizing fleet. The new 5,000-ton displacement patrol vessel will be powered by four MTU 20V1163M94 engines in a Combined Diesel and Diesel (CODAD) propulsion configuration, with onboard power provided by four 12V4000M23S gensets. MTU Upgrades Series 1163 for IMO Standards
