AEU Presents Safety Awards

The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU) presented its 2014 Safety Awards at the annual American Longshore Mutual Association, Ltd. (ALMA) Conference on July 19, 2015, in Key Biscayne, Fla. AEU, which provides solutions for workers’ compensation coverage under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, each year gives awards to the best performing ALMA members nationwide based on the rate and severity of accidents for the calendar year. Austal USA Wins Safety Award

Austal USA earns 3rd annual Equity Underwriters' (AEU) large shipyard safety & health award
. (AEU insures 68 shipyards nationwide). AEU has honored Austal USA, a member of the American Longshore Mutual Association (ALMA), with the presentation of their 2012 Safety and Health Award for a large shipyard. Jimmy Burgin, AEU Senior Vice President and Director of Loss Control, presented Austal USA president, Craig Perciavalle, with the award at Austal’s shipyard in Mobile, Alabama – one of 68 shipyards insured by AEU nationwide.

Maritime Safety Awards Announced

On July 29, 2013, The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU) presented the 2012 Safety Awards at the annual American Longshore Mutual Association (ALMA) Conference in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, where Coach Gene Stallings was the keynote speaker. The awards are given each year to the best performing ALMA members nationwide and are based on the number of accidents and the severity of accidents for the calendar year. The award is an acknowledgement that these companies are leaders in the most important aspect of business operations - protecting employees from injury or death.
