Alve Field on Stream

The Alve gas and condensate field in the Norwegian Sea started production yesterday afternoon, 19 March. Alve is developed as a subsea satellite field tied back to the Norne field's production vessel. Alve was discovered in 1990. The find led to the discovery of the Norne oil and gas field which was proven in 1992 and brought on stream in 1997. "Its proximity to Norne made it possible to develop Alve as a satellite field, which resulted in substantial value creation and good utilization of resources," said Anita A Stenhaug, vice president for Norne operations.
