Michelin to Use Sailing Cargo Ships for Tire Transport

The Michelin Group said it signed a deal with French startup NEOLINE to transport its tires across the Atlantic aboard sailing cargo ships. The move aims to reduce CO2 emissions from the manufacturer's logistics operations.The partners expect to begin containerized tire shipments aboard NEOLINE's "wind-powered" vessels on a pilot line from Halifax (Canada) to Saint-Nazaire - Montoir de Bretagne (France) by 2023.NEOLINE, which already has transport agreements with companies such as Jas Hennessy & Co.…

Beneteau Partners with Raceix

Erling Sande Named Cox Powertrain's Norwegian Distributor

Cox Powertrain has announced its first European distributor appointment as Drammen, Norway based Erling Sande AS. The marine power specialist has signed an agreement to become Cox Powertrain’s sole Norwegian distributor and in doing so will play a prominent role in driving Norwegian sales of Cox Powertrain’s revolutionary marine diesel outboard engine, the CXO300, which will be launched in the second half of 2018. Created in 1932, Erling Sande AS is a well-established and respected name within Norway’s marine industry.

Newport International Boat Show Announces Edson Awards

Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show,announced today the results of this year’s Edson Awards for Excellence in Portraying Company Image. Presented by Will Keene, chairman of Edson International, and given to companies whose display and employees exemplify pride and professionalism, the awards were presented to four category winners who each received a $1,000 credit toward their 2017 show contract costs from the show producers. Edson also awarded a Star of the Showplaque to an overall winner. “Overall, the exhibitors at the 46th annual Newport International Boat Show delivered a high level of professionalism – it was very difficult to choose the best display,” said Will Keane.

Beneteau Sailboat Wins Best Boat Awards

Beneteau's 'Sense 55' voted "Best Boat 2013" and "Boat of the Year 2013" by two sailing publications. Two separate panels of judges from two premier sailing publications have confirmed that  the Beneteau Sense 55 is one incredible, horizon expanding yacht. Sail Magazine chose the Sense 55 as their "Best Boat" of the year, and Cruising World gave it the "Boat of the Year" award for the best import of 2013. All the judges were keenly impressed by the Sense 55's easy transition from salon to cockpit, massive drop-down swim platform and the feel of a multihull in a monohull design.

Denison Yacht Sales Adds to its Team of Brokers

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Marina Del Ray, Calif. - Denison Yacht Sales, a full-service global yacht brokerage and yacht charter firm, recently hired eight new yacht brokers and a charter fleet manager. The new hires will expand the company's presence at its Florida and California offices. Joining the Fort Lauderdale brokerage are Skip Denison, Juan Pasch, Peter Quintal, and Gene Echols. Pasch will specifically be assisting in the sale of new Beneteau G.T.'s. New brokers to the California location include Dave Millett, Rick Peters, John Zagorski and Ed Gillespie.

Boat Show at Miami Beach Registered Strong Sales

Attendance at the recent Miami Beach Boat Show based on concession sales and number of people using show transportation at the free-to-the-public event, was up more than 7 percent. Most importantly, notably strong sales activity was reported by numerous builders including Fairline, Viking, Ferretti, Hatteras, Westport and Marquis and brokerages including Allied Marine, HMY and Merle Wood, among others. “The show was a tremendous success this year,” said Andrew Doole, senior vice president and COO of Show Management.

Voller Prepares for Fuel Cell Yacht's Launch
