Indian Petroleum Minister Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says India has expressed interest in setting up an LNG terminal at Chahabar port in Iran to ship back home natural gas from Persian Gulf nation, reports PTI. India is ready to invest $20 billion in the development of Iran’s Chabahar port and has requested it to allocate adequate land in the Chabahar Special Economic Zone (SEZ), state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) said in a statement. "Dharmendra Pradhan conveyed to the Iranian side that Indian companies could invest upto $20 billion and were interested in setting up petrochemical and fertiliser plants, including in the Chabahar SEZ, either through joint venture between Indian and Iranian public sector companies or with private sector partners," the statement said.

Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Zangeneh said that Iran and Belgium are in talks for possible floating production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) FLNG Unit off the Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf. Iran will boost its crude oil production within one week once international sanctions are lifted and is determined to regain its lost market share, senior Iranian oil officials reiterated on Monday. Iran will raise production by 500,000 barrels per day in the first week after sanctions are lifted, Rokneddin Javadi, general manager of the National Iranian Oil Company, was quoted as saying by oil ministry news agency Shaha. Iran has received a proposal from Spain to use its terminals to export Liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe, reports Press TV   The proposal was discussed during the meeting of Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh with the visiting Spanish Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism José Manuel Soria López.   Iran was previously pursuing several major LNG projects that included Pars LNG, Persian LNG and Iran LNG.  But they were later abandoned as complications grew – mostly as a result of US-sanctions that prohibit investments of liquefaction enterprises in Iran.    A recent alternative for Iran – albeit less spoken of - is to pipe its natural gas to Oman for liquefaction processing and export the LNG thus obtained to international markets.
