Rolls-Royce to Supply mtu Engines for Four Hybrid Tugs in Brazil

New MTU Hybrid Propulsion Systems Introduced

As of 2020, Rolls-Royce will launch a range of completely integrated MTU hybrid ship propulsion systems onto the market. High Power for New Tunisian Naval Boats

Two new vessels are set to provide the Tunisian Navy with improved capabilities to conduct search and rescue and extended offshore patrols. Supplying marine engines for two new vessels is marine engine sales and service company Pacific Power Group, who provided twin MTU 10V2000M94 diesel engines, related controls, monitoring systems and reduction gears. The two new 65-foot full cabin inboard boats were delivered by SAFE Boats International this spring with the first boat arriving to Tunisia in April. Among the boats features are twin MTU 1,600 HP diesel engines, shock mitigating seating, climate control, navigation and MTU Blue Vision New Generation monitoring and controls.

MTU's New Generation Series 2000 Yacht Engine

MTU will be presenting its propulsion and system solutions at the International yachting “Festival de la Plaisance” in Cannes from September 9-14, 2014. Visitors will be able to discover the extensive portfolio of the Rolls-Royce Power Systems subsidiary at Stand JAS-025. An advanced Series 2000 M96 yacht engine which meets US emission stage EPA Tier 3 (for leisure craft) will be on view for the first time. “The latest generation of Series 2000 engines stands out with optimized acceleration and low fuel consumption. The engine meets EPA Tier 3 emission limits using in-engine technology only and without having to resort to exhaust aftertreatment”, explains Dr. Michael Haidinger, Chief Sales Officer at Rolls-Royce Power Systems.
