American Market Again Chooses MAN B&W ME-GI

Crowley orders multiple main and auxiliary dual-fuel engines for efficient, emissions-friendly U.S. – Puerto Rico-trade ConRo ships. Florida-based Crowley Maritime Corporation, the marine solutions, transportation and logistics company, has placed an order for 2 × ConRo ships. Each vessel will be powered by an MAN B&W 8S70ME-GI8.2 main engine and 3 × MAN 9L28/32DF auxiliary engines. The ConRo ships – with container Lift-On/Lift-Off (LO/LO) and Roll-On/Roll-Off (RO/RO) – will be built by VT Halter Marine Inc. of Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Crowley to Launch Third Sailing in U.S. Gulf

Crowley Maritime Corporation announced that its liner services unit will add a third, weekly, fixed-day sailing effective May 18 between Gulfport, Miss. and the Central America northern zone countries of Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Crowley had been serving the trade in the Gulf with vessels leaving Gulfport on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but will now sail on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. With this move, the Hansaland will join the Crowley Sun and the Ro/Ro Gothica to provide the third sailing. Ships in the northern zone service call in Santo Tomas, Guatemala and Puerto Cortes, Honduras. Overland service is provided to Nicaragua and El Salvador.
