Carnival Signs LTSA with MAN PrimeServ

MAN Energy Solutions, MAN Energy Solutions USA and Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest cruise company, have signed a service agreement (LTSA) for five of Carnival’s Vista Class cruise ships powered by MAN 48/60CR type engines. The scope of the agreement covers the management of all maintenance, including planning, parts, technical advisory service, training and remote monitoring support. Carnival Orders Excel-class Cruise Ship

Fresh on the heels of its first newbuild order in five years, the world's largest cruise company has placed an order for an additional vessel.U.S.-based Carnival Corporation on Tuesday announced it has signed an agreement with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft to build an Excel-class cruise ship for its Carnival Cruise Line brand for expected delivery in 2028.The ship will be the 11th Excel-class ship for the corporation's fleet across four of its brands, and the fifth to be sailed by Carnival Cruise Line.

Holland America Line Ship to House Ukrainian Refugees

A Dutch-flagged cruise ship will provide a temporary home to some 1,500 Ukrainians who fled their country in the wake of Russia's invasion.Holland America Line said its vessel Volendam will be used to accommodate Ukrainian refugees as part of an agreement announced by Netherlands and City of Rotterdam government officials. Wärtsilä Waste Treatment for Princess Cruises

The Finnish technology major Wartsila will supply and install an Auto Gasification solution for the Regal Princess, enabling the safe disposal of waste from the ship through a self-fueling thermal decomposition unit, thereby significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.The gasification unit on Princess Cruises’ vessel will reduce the ship’s waste to less than 5% of it is original volume, turning it into a sterilize inert material called Bio Char and a synthetic gas that will be recycled within the unit as fuel, said a press release.It will also lessen the requirement to offload waste at shore facilities. GEA Equips Cruise Ships with Transcritical CO2

Third LNG-powered Ship Ordered for AIDA Cruises

The number of liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered ships on order for AIDA Cruises has risen to three following the latest shipbuilding contract announced today by the German cruise line’s parent company Carnival Corporation & plc. Carnival said it signed a shipbuilding contract with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft GmbH to build another new 180,000-ton ship that will be fully powered at sea and in port by LNG. The vessel will be built at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg shipyard for delivery in 2023. By that time, more than half of AIDA Cruises’ ships will run fully or partially on LNG.
