The third in Celebrity Cruises' $3.7b Solstice Class fleet, Celebrity Eclipse emerged for the first time from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany on Feb. 28. Celebrity Eclipse will enter service April 26 and, following two short break cruises, will offer a series of Canary Islands, Scandinavia/Russia and Spanish Mediterranean sailings roundtrip from Southampton, England. "We listened closely to what Internet users said they wanted to find in a travel-oriented web site, and applied those comments to the creation of our new site," said Celebrity Cruises senior vice president of marketing and brand planning Ares Michaelides. Celebrity's new web site features a variety of options tailored to each site visitor's personal vacation interests; larger images depicting the onboard experience and varied ports of call; special promotions; extensive information about each destination; a Captain's Club (loyalty program) component; personalized tips for group cruise planners, and enhanced cruise booking and transaction capabilities.
