Nautisk Appoints Sub-distributor in Spain

Global chart distributor Nautisk has appointed SEAMAPS ES as a sub-distributor, serving Algeciras and the surrounding areas.   The Spanish chandler will service local customers with core navigational products and services direct from Nautisk including Admiralty charts and publications in both paper and digital format.   SEAMAPS will also offer a number of solutions developed by Nautisk for the maritime market including POD (Print on Demand), Nautisk’s vessel information service  - Neptune, and the newly launched digital publications library, NaviTab.

Nautisk Bolsters Management Team in Asia

Global chart distributor Nautisk said it is strengthening its presence across one of its core global locations with the appointment of two new managers in Asia. Alan Leung will take up the role of Regional Sales Manager in Hong Kong to help with Nautisk’s business expansion in the region, with particular focus on Hong Kong, the company said. Over the next 12-18 months, Leung will be tasked with growing Nautisk’s business in Asia and driving sales activities, while managing key accounts and dealing directly with customers.

Nautisk Opens Aberdeen Office

Global chart distributor Nautisk has opened a new office in Aberdeen. Peter J. Pran, Nautisk Head of Global Sales, said the new headquarters will build on Nautisk’s offering to the oil and gas sector in Norway, as well as offering a link to customers operating in the U.K. and Northern Europe. He added, “Aberdeen is at the center of the oil and gas sector, as well as shipping and offshore. DNV Approves "Pay as You Sail" Charts Option

Global chart distributor Nautisk has confirmed DNV approval for its Neptune Pay As You Sail (PAYS) Solution. PAYS enables users to access global ENCs for use with onboard ECDIS systems, while only paying for those that are actually used. Peter J Pran, Nautisk Project Manager said, “Despite a positive market outlook, demands on shipowners and vessel operators to make cost savings and optimize operational efficiency are continuing to increase. “Our PAYS solution gives both shore-based and onboard teams access to any number of ENCs that may be required for one particular trading route.

Admiralty Vector Chart Service Now Available on DVD

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) unveiled plans to supply the  Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS) on one DVD from summer 2013, providing customers with a range of benefits, including faster loading speeds, reduced data handling and fewer warning messages. Combined with the existing online ENC updating service and custom exchange set option delivered through e-Navigator Planning Station, AVCS on one DVD marks a significant step forward in making open, S-63 based ENC services much easier for the mariner.
