Helsinki Shipyard Launches First Cruise Ship for Swan Hellenic

Finnish shipbuilder Helsinki Shipyard said it has launched the fist of three new luxury expedition cruise ships it is building for Swan Hellenic.At the same time, the hull of the second ship, which already has a ship shape, was floated in the dry dock, while the production of the third vessel in the series started earlier this month.The first of the ships under construction is scheduled to be handed over to its owner in Fall 2021, followed by the second in Spring 2022 and the third in Fall 2022, the shipbuilder said..“The vessel, which has now been launched, is a forerunner in many respects.

P&O Superferry Twins Refit and Return to Service

P&O Ferries’ superferry twins, European Highlander and European Causeway which operate between Cairnryan and Larne, have returned to service following a £100,000 refit on each ship. The work, carried out by local ship outfitters Blu Marine, is part of P&O Ferries ongoing £20m investment program across its Irish Sea ships’ and ports. Earlier this year the company relaunched the P&O Express, on its fast ferry service between Troon and Larne, following a £500,000 investment to redesign and refit the ship throughout.

P&O Introduce Irish Sea Fast Ferry After Overhaul

Ship refurbishment specialists Blu Marine complete the £500,000 contract, and P&O has begun operating the ship on its Troon to Larne service. Blu Marine carried out the work in Belfast Harbour, which mainly involved fitting the P&O Express with a new Club Lounge designed to meet the needs of business travellers. The 90-capacity lounge will offer complimentary news-papers, magazines, drinks and snacks, with facilities in place to allow passengers to use laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
