Voith Turbo Acquires AIR

Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG has acquired the share majority in AIR Fertigung-Technologie GmbH & Co. KG based in Hohen-Luckow near Rostock. Voith Turbo has been participating in AIR, an enterprise founded in 1993 by employees of Rostock University, since 2005. With the beginning of the new business year 2007/2008, Voith Turbo has intensified its involvement in AIR, which is worldwide renowned for innovative drive solutions. AIR currently employs approximately 35 people. The core business of the future Voith Turbo AIR GmbH & Co. KG will remain unchanged after Voith Turbo's acquisition of the majority shareholding; namely the development and production of innovative ship drives on CFK-basis.
