The Eighth FORAN Users Meeting (FORUM 2014) took place June 11-13, 2014 in the Parador de la Granja, Segovia, and when it was over the organizers proclaimed it a great success, recording the highest number of participants ever. On Thursday June 12, Rafael de Góngora, General Manager of SENER Marine Business Unit, welcomed the attendees and encouraged an open sharing of experience in using the FORAN System. Miguel Ángel Rojí, from Navantia (Spain), presented about the optimization of the design and production in the Spanish shipbuilding group of reference.

The SENER contracts are with the Chinese CSDDC ((China Ship Development and Design Center) & CSOC (China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co. Ltd). Once built, the fishing vessel will be operated by the company CNFC (China National Fisheries Corporation) in the fishing-grounds of the coast of West Africa. SENER and China Ship Development and Design Center (CSDDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understand for the implementation of the shipbuilding CAD/CAM FORAN system in CSDDC and for the collaboration in ship design and engineering activities and other marine related works. The agreement has been signed in Madrid at SENER headquarters during a visit of a delegation from CSDDC.
