Basic Offshore contracts with CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding to build two Havyard 832 L SE Platform Supply Vessels. Basic Offshore is a newly-established shipping company with its main focus on the market in West Africa, and they have an option of buying an additional six Havyard 832 L SE designed vessels from the shipyard. Both new ships on order are to be delivered in 2014. The Chinese state-owned shipyard CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding CO. Ltd. constructs both larger trade tonnage as well as specialized offshore vessels.

PTC the Product Development Company, and Guangzhou-based CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding Co. Ltd announced that Huangpu Shipbuilding has expanded its use of PTC Shipbuilding Solution, which includes CADDS 5i to improve its overall design capabilities. With the expanded software implementation, Huangpu Shipbuilding is standardizing on PTC Shipbuilding Solution as its manufacturing design platform. Huangpu Shipbuilding believes that this decision will further accelerate its transformation into a modern international shipbuilding enterprise. The suite of CADDS 5i solutions enables users to reference each other's evolving designs and facilitate concurrent engineering in a fully digitized ship design and 3D modeling environment.
