Dr. David Mazurek, a civil engineering professor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, has been named the winner of the 2015 U.S. Coast Guard Engineer of the Year Award. Mazurek was selected from a strong and diverse pool of exceptional nominees based on his educational, professional, and personal achievements. An expert in structural analysis and design who has served as an Academy civil engineering professor for more than 24 years, he has taught mechanics and structural engineering to an entire generation of U.S. Coast Guard Civil Engineers. In addition to serving on the Academy faculty, Mazurek authored two of the bestselling engineering textbooks in the world.
