Alexander Kocherscheidt to Become Managing Director at Atlas Elektronik

On 1 March 2013, Alexander Kocherscheidt (39) will commence his duties as Managing Director of Atlas Elektronik. As Chief Financial Officer, he will be responsible for the Finance Division as well as for the Human Resources, Legal and Compliance Divisions. With a degree in business law, he currently holds the position of CFO at Regional Centre British Islands of ThyssenKrupp Elevator, which has its headquarters in London. Alexander Kocherscheidt succeeds Dieter Rottsieper, who has joined the Management Board of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems GmbH (TKMS). www.atlas-elektronik.com

Paltzo Named MD at Atlas Elektronik

Volker Paltzo has been appointed to the Management Board of Atlas Elektronik. Effective October 1, Paltzo will succeed Kai Horten, who leaves after five years as Managing Director of ATLAS to become CEO and President of the aircraft manufacturing supplier Premium Aerotec GmbH. Dieter Rottsieper will remain Speaker of the Management Board. At present, Paltzo (46) is the COO of Eurofighter GmbH. Once he joins Atlas Elektronik, he will be responsible for Submarine Systems, Naval Weapons, Vessel Systems, Business Development and Marketing, as well as Services and Communications.

ATLAS North America Founded

Norfolk/Bremen – The Atlas Elektronik Group, a worldwide acting company for maritime defense electronics, has founded a subsidiary in North America. Atlas North America (Atlas NA) has been set up to establish a strong and reliable partnership with the US Navy and US authorities. As potential main contractor Atlas NA will provide Atlas products and solutions for current or future US users. This is an important step within the globalization strategy of the company, which is based with its headquarters in Germany.

Atlas World is Inaugurated

Atlas Elektronik last month opened its new presentation, simulation and integration center dubbed “Atlas World.” The Managing Directors of Atlas, Dieter Rottsieper and Kai Horten, officially opened the new facility together with Ralf Nagel, Bremen’s Senator for Economic Affairs and Ports, and Captain Werner Lüders, Director of Naval Armaments and Logistics for the German Navy. The new center is designed to showcase and demonstrate the company’s products and systems from the world of naval technology.
