DMCC, Maersk Team up on Shipping Solution
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the world’s leading Free Zone for trade and enterprise in Dubai, has teamed up with Maersk Trade Finance to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ solution that handles both the flow of goods and financing. The requirement was raised by DMCC’s Food Trade Group, set up in October 2016, an industry group aimed at growing the global food trade industry by connecting financiers and traders alike. As a result, DMCC and Maersk came together to provide the trade with a solution that meets both their shipping and financing needs including pre- and post-shipment finance. The announcement came at the annual DMCC Food Trade Group dinner in Dubai.
Monjasa DMCC Awarded Best Maritime Company
Managing Director for Monjasa DMCC, Mikkel Jacobsen, proudly received the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Award for Best Maritime Company 2016. The DMCC counts +12,000 leading businesses in Dubai and the judging panel emphasised several years of successful growth and Monajsa’s approach to quality and risk management as main reasons for the acknowledgment. Mikkel Jacobsen, Managing Director for Monjasa DMCC, comments: “I am truly honoured to receive this DMCC Award for Best Martime Company 2016 on behalf of Monjasa. Dubai Maritime Club Launched
The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, has committed its full support for the Dubai Maritime Club, a not-for-profit initiative aimed at nurturing a dynamic network of maritime professionals. DPW Looks Ahead to Expansion Drive
According to reports, DP World, on target to achieve 40 percent growth in four years, will spend up to $3b to boost container traffic at the 52 port terminals it currently operates around the globe. Announcing the formal launch of Dubai World — the holding group comprising a collection of companies, including P&F World, the parent company of DP World — Sulayem said the diversified entity, which has seen the size and spread of business growing over the past couple of years, is geared to tap further huge potential for growth. Sulayem said DP World and its adviser Deutsche Bank were evaluating various offers for the six US terminals it acquired as part of the $6.8 billion take-over of Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company in February.
