Coast Guard Offloads $19.3m of Illicit Drugs Seized in the Caribbean Sea

Everllence Ammonia Engine Passes Factory Acceptance Test
Everllence has announced the successful factory acceptance test (FAT) of its first ammonia-burning engine built by licensee Engine & Machinery of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI-EMD) in South Korea.The dual-fuel Everllence B&W 6G60ME-LGIA (-liquid gas injection ammonia) type is slated for a vessel for Singapore-based, Eastern Pacific Shipping currently under construction at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Korea. The engine also comes equipped with HPSCR (High Pressure Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology.The first very large ammonia carrier is scheduled for delivery in October 2026.

Coast Guard Cutter Forward (WMEC 911) intercepted a self-propelled semi-submersible (SPSS) vessel during a routine patrol on February 24 in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.A maritime patrol aircraft detected the vessel and reported the location to Forward watchstanders. Forward’s crew rapidly deployed its over-the-horizon cutter pursuit boat and an embarked MH-65 aircraft from the Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON) to intercept the suspicious vessel.Despite repeated verbal commands issued by the boarding team, the SPSS failed to comply or stop their vessel.

GTT Receives Order from Jiangnan Shipyard for LNG Carrier Tank Design
GTT announced that it received, in early 2026, an order from the shipyard Jiangnan for the tank design of two new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs) on behalf of the Singapore-based ship-owner Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS).GTT will design the cryogenic tanks of the vessels, which will each offer a capacity of 175,000 m³. The tanks will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT.Delivery of the vessels is expected at the end of 2028.
