Grandweld Opens New Dubai Shipyard

Grandweld Shipyards' new facility inaugurated in a ceremony at its location in Dubai Maritime City. Over the years, the company has experienced a rapid growth necessitating expansion to a larger facility. In 2011, Grandweld  invested approximately AED 100 million to expand its manufacturing and production area to double its annual capacity. DDW: Steel cut on World’s Larges Wind Power HVDC Offshore Platform

Drydocks World said that construction has begun on DolWin beta, the world’s largest Wind Power HVDC Offshore Platform for Aibel AS, a leading service company that works within the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors. A steel cutting ceremony was organized to mark the occasion. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group was the Guest of Honor at the ceremony, attended by the prominent people from Government and Private sectors.
