Ex-ROVOP Man Joins Maersk Training to Drive UK Growth

Maersk Training has named a new UK head of commercial to drive its growth and increase its safety offering for the energy industry.Based in Aberdeen, Paul Hudson will oversee sales, commercial and marketing activities for the company. He will work with UK managing director, Leonardo Machado, to expand the business as Maersk Training says its aim is to be the preferred training and solution partner across the oil and gas, maritime, and renewables sectors.Hudson joins Maersk Training from ROVOP where he was head of business development before becoming its sales and marketing director.

Forum Builds Advanced Submarine Rescue Vehicle

ROV manufacturer Forum Energy Technologies has completed the construction of what it says is a highly advanced submarine rescue vehicle (SRV), which may be utilized to extract submariners from distress situations.According to Forum, the LR-class SRV is capable of rescuing up to 17 people at a time and operate at depths of up to 600 meters. "The new model has increased power and an advanced auxiliary thruster control system that allows for speeds of up to four knots, enabling it to operate in high currents.

Forum Bags Mojave ROV Deal

Oilfield products company Forum Energy Technologies said it has sealed a contract to supply a Mojave remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for the Norwegian firm ESEA Marine.Sub-Atlantic Mojave will also be used by ESEA Submarine’s sister company, ESEA Marine AS, which has customers that include fish farms, port authorities and insurance companies, said the international oilfield products company, serving the subsea, drilling, completion and  production sectors of the oil and natural gas industry.In addition, the Mojave will play a training role in helping ROV pilots to develop their skills.Georg Stranden, general manager at ESEA Submarine…

Forum Delivers 350th RT Torque Machine

Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. said it has designed, manufactured, tested and delivered its 350th rotational torque (RT) torque machine to TAM International, a globally recognized downhole inflatable packer leader. The torque machine, or bucking unit as it is commonly referred, was manufactured at the Forum AMC facility in Aberdeen, U.K. This represents the sixth unit that TAM has purchased from Forum in three years, and is a testament to TAM’s growth plans, as well as their trust in Forum’s equipment and global support network.

Plans Well Advanced for IMCA Annual Seminar

Offshore Equipment Firm Acquisition by Forum Energy

Houston-based Forum Energy Technologies agrees to acquire Blohm + Voss Oil Tools from STAR Capital Partners Limited (STAR), a London based private equity firm. Completion of the transaction is subject to certain customary closing conditions. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed. With locations in Hamburg, Germany and Willis, Texas, Blohm + Voss Oil Tools manufactures a comprehensive range of pipe handling equipment used on offshore and onshore drilling rigs. FET Acquires Dynacon

Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FET) acquired Dynacon, Inc. Dynacon is a provider of launch and recovery systems (LARS) used for deployment of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and also manufactures high quality, specialized cable and umbilical handling equipment for all segments of the marine industry. Dynacon’s Bryan, TX location employs more than 100 people and consists of 82,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and office space and 40,000 sq. ft. of specialized test area located on 16 acres. ROV Contract for Forum Energy

Houston-based Forum Energy Technologies contracted by Cummings Consulting to supply two Sub-Atlantic Mojave Systems ROV's. Both of the Mojave ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) will be equipped with job specific tooling systems such as; electric winches, touch screen control monitors, Sub-can Control Systems, sonar, color and monochrome cameras. Also included are two three function manipulators and VisualSoft™ data capture capabilities. The Mojave systems are capable of reaching depths of 300 meters, and will be deployed for assessment analysis immediately off the coast of Florida. "The Mojave was the perfect observation vehicle for us because of its high thrust, low cost and easy deployment. Our relationship with Forum played an important role in our purchase as well.

Forum to Provide Offshore Trenching System to Global Marine

Forum Energy Technologies contracts with Global Marine Systems to supply a PerryTM XT 600 Trenching System. The XT 600 Trenching System is scheduled for delivery in 2013. It will be installed in the Global Marine vessel the Cable Retriever, based in the Philippines, and will replace the T205 trencher that was previously supplied by Forum/Perry in 2000. The XT 600 Trenching System will be used to support Global Marine's subsea cable maintenance contracts in South East Asia and the Indian Ocean. The trenching system is to come complete with Launch & Recovery System and special tooling. The trencher provides three meter ROV burial capability on the ocean floor.

Forum Sells Two Sub-Atlantic™ ROV's

Forum Energy Technologies sell two Sub-Atlantic™ ROVs to IKM Subsea for deployment in North Sea and Singapore waters. "We recently won a five year frame agreement with Statoil, and we intend to continue our strong growth both in the Norwegian and International market," says IKM Subsea Managing Director Ben Pollard.
