Flyboarding Will Land at Michigan City Boat Show

Whether it’s gliding through the water like a dolphin or flying 35 feet above it like a suoer hero, when Cory Johnson take off flyboarding at the Progressive Michigan City Boat Show, August 7-10, the crowds will be seeing the hottest new watersports. With each demonstration, Johnson will slip into a pair of boots secured to the flyboard by bindings similar to a wakeboard. Water is forced under pressure to jet nozzles underneath the boots which provide thrust for the rider to fly up in the air or to dive headlong through the water. Invented by French watercraft rider Franky Zapata in 2011, he perfected a design that allows the flyboarder to climb out of the water and be stable in the air by employing underfoot propulsion and hand stabilization.
