Stradling Joins Furuno USA

Marine electronics company Furuno USA announced it recently hired Andrew Stradling as technical applications manager.Based in Seattle, Stradling will work alongside longtime Furuno USA representatives Alan Terry and Jon Closson for the overall promotion and sales of Furuno commercial fishery solutions in the Americas. Furuno USA has hired a new commercial business development manager. Based in Houston, Texas, Mr. George Toma will play a key role in establishing and developing business relationships with commercial ship owners, operators, and builders around the country to promote the Furuno product line.Toma comes to Furuno with forty years of experience in the maritime industry. He has served on the Board of Directors for RTCM (Radio Technical Commission for Maritimes), and received the Outstanding Professional Achievement Award in 2013 from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Association.

Furuno to Collaborate with OSI to Produce Navigation Systems

Offshore Systems International Ltd. (OSI) announced that its systems division, has signed a multi-year agreement with Furuno Electric Company Ltd. With the agreement, the two companies will work together to produce an electronic ship navigation system which Furuno will sell and service through its world-wide dealer network. "Furuno is a marine electronics leader with great products and huge reach," said John Jacobson, President and CEO of OSI. "Offshore is strong in the military market. The new system is expected to be launched later in 2003. Furuno will distribute the system under the Furuno brand name, and OSI will receive a license fee for each system sold.
