Oil and gas company Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited said Monday that owners of  Golden Eagle, Piper, and Claymore fields, located in the North Sea northeast of Aberdeen, have executed new agreements reaffirming their commitment to export produced oil to the Flotta Terminal until the end of field life in the 2030s."This commitment to support the longevity of the terminal underpins a variety of growth opportunities in the wider area, including renewed drilling and several third party tie-backs.

Offshore driller Stena Drilling has signed a contract with Nexen Petroleum U.K. Limited for the Stena Spey drilling rig.    Stena said  in a press release that the drilling campaign will last around 110 days with a potential additional option well on the Golden Eagle field, UK Central North Sea.   The drilling campaign will commence on completion of the current well with Repsol-Sinopec.   "Stena Drilling is very pleased to be working with Nexen Petroleum U.K. Limited and this workscope presents another exciting new opportunity for the Stena Spey and the crews," said a statement.   The Stena Spey is a Friede & Goldman L907 (enhanced Pacesetter) twin pontoon, column stabilised self propelled, semi submersible offshore drilling unit.

Maersk Oil says there is still huge potential value in the North Sea, citing projects like Culzean – which received board approval this month – and Johan Sverdrup, as the Danish oil and gas company aims to improve from its current rank of ninth to become a top-five producer in the region. Maersk Oil informs it is looking for new long-term growth opportunities in the North Sea, investing heavily in projects and improving the efficiency of operations. Denmark's Maersk Oil, a unit of conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk , said on Monday oil production from the Golden Eagle field in Britain's North Sea had started. There are two Golden Eagle wells with potential to produce about 18,000 barrels of oil per day. Nexen Petroleum, a subsidiary of Chinese state-run CNOOC , has a 36.54 percent interest in the development and is the operator. Maersk Oil holds a 31.56 percent interest, Suncor Energy has 26.69 percent and Edinburgh Oil and Gas has 5.21 percent. Reporting by Ole Mikkelsen

Global safety seal manufacturer Roxtec has completed a project supplying cable and pipe seals to a six level accommodation module on the Golden Eagle development. The living quarters houses 70 self-contained cabins for up to 140 people. It also includes a gymnasium, dining room, offices and a medical suite. Aberdeen-based standby vessel operator Atlantic Offshore Rescue has secured a five-year charter with five, one year options to extend with Shell UK to support operations in the Gannet, Annasuria and the Dana Petroleum Triton Asset in the central North Sea. Ocean Osprey, a brand new Class A tanker assist, rescue and standby ship will be used to provide emergency recovery, rescue cover, tanker assistance and general field support in offshore operations. The vessel is the first of a new H820 design from Havyard Ship Design and was developed in close collaboration with Atlantic Offshore.

Liverpool (Birkenhead) UK-based maritime sector contractor MPE Interiors says it has completed an outfitting contract for North East shipyard operator UK Docks, aboard the offshore support vessel 'Ocean Tay'. MPE carried out the refurbishment works at  Wear Dock & Engineering in Sunderland as part of a conversion to the Ocean Tay, a 63-m (207-ft) Class A Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV), operated by Atlantic Offshore Rescue Ltd. US-based CB&I wins a project contract worth US$250-million from Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co, Ltd. (DSME). CB&I's scope of work, which will commence in the first quarter, includes detailed engineering design services for the Mariner Topsides project that is part of the Mariner oil field development project being operated by Statoil in the UK North Sea. The Mariner heavy oil field is located on the East Shetland Platform of the UK North Sea, approximately 150 kilometers east of the Shetland Isles. Pending final approval of the field development plan by the UK authorities, Statoil expects to start production from Mariner in 2017. The field is estimated to produce for 30 years with an average production of around 55,000 barrels of oil per day.

The Golden Eagle Living Quarters [LQ] module designed and built by Sembmarine SLP in Lowestoft at its Hamilton Dock, successfully sailed away yesterday passing through the port pier heads at 12:05 BST. Metso has won an order from Eni Norge and Statoil to supply its latest-generation stainless steel valve controllers to the Norwegian Goliat Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) plant in the Barents Sea. Metso's controllers will equip all pneumatic actuated control, on/off and ESD valves of the plant and will help Eni Norge to monitor and report valve performance for asset management purposes. With all valves-related information available, predictive maintenance is possible. Goliat is one of the largest industrial projects ever in the High North and the first oil field to be developed in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea. Fairstar Heavy Transport N.V. (FAIR) has signed a USD 247 million syndicated loan facility led by ING Bank. The facility provides the necessary liquidity to satisfy the outstanding payment obligations to Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) due under the construction contracts for the 50,000 DWT semi-submersible vessels FORTE and FINESSE. In addition, the facility provides Fairstar with a USD 20 million tranche for the performance bonds required under the Gorgon, Ichthys and Golden Eagle contracts.

The company says it has an extensive exploration program and plans to drill roughly 155 exploration wells and acquire approximately 26.7 thousand kilometers of 2-Dimensional (2D) seismic data as well as approximately 19.4 thousand square kilometers of 3-Dimensional (3D) seismic data. Aberdeen-based standby vessel operator Atlantic Offshore Rescue has commissioned a £6 million vessel for a long-term charter with Nexen Petroleum UK Ltd. (Nexen). Thirty new jobs have been created as a result of the new vessel, Ocean Tay, a Class A Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV), which will provide emergency vessel cover for Nexen’s flagship Golden Eagle Area Development in the North Sea.
