Gresham Power Electronics (GPE), the Salisbury-based defence and commercial power conversion specialist, has secured a £1.18 million order to supply uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems to be fitted to Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) tankers currently being built by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME). To be delivered to the U.K. MoD, each MARS tanker requires a total complement of eight UPS systems of various power ratings. DSME are building four MARS tankers to support Type 45 Destroyers while at sea.
