HMC Chooses Kongsberg Offshore Simulator

Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) has selected Kongsberg Maritime’s K-Sim Offshore simulation platform to enhance crane operator training and the safe, efficient implementation of heavy lift operations. With the contract signed on May 21, 2014, delivery of what Kongsberg said will become the world’s most advanced offshore heavy lift crane simulator is planned for September 2015. It will be installed at a new simulation centre in the HMC Academy at the company’s HQ in Leiden, the Netherlands.

Kongsberg to Supply Engine Room Simulator to Ghana

The Regional Maritime University (RMU) has awarded Kongsberg Maritime a contract to deliver its K-Sim Engine simulator for its premises in Accra, Ghana. The highly advanced Full Mission Engine Room Simulator (ERS), which is due for delivery in May 2014 will enable RMU to provide education according to STCW requirements. Belgian Employment Service Chooses Kongsberg's Bridge Simulators

Kongsberg Maritime has been selected to supply eight bridge Polaris Ship's Bridge Simulator to Vlaamse Dienst Voor Arbeidsbemiddeling en Beroepsopleiding (VDAB) in Zeebrugge, Belgium. As the public employment service of Flanders in Belgium, VDAB has chosen Kongsberg Maritime's Polaris simulator as the basis for the training and evaluation of crew for several customers, including Jan De Nul and DEME, two of the world's major dredging shipping companies. The Polaris Ship's Bridge Simulator (SBS) will allow students at VDAB's upgraded facility to train in a large number of sailing areas and is capable of providing training within a broad range of disciplines, including: Standard navigation, maneuvering and ship handling operations, Search and Rescue operations and ice navigation.
