International specialty chemicals group Octel has set up Octel Marine, a dedicated business team to look after its growing marine customer base following the recent acquisition of well-known fuel treatment brands PLUTO®, Bycosin and CP3500. The move means Octel Marine, which forms part of the company’s Petroleum Specialties business, is now the world’s largest supplier of heavy fuel oil treatments to the marine market. Tim Revington, Octel Marine’s Business Director, said Octel Marine was important for both Octel and the industry at large. “We are committed to the marine market so it made sense to set up a dedicated marine business team to co-ordinate our activities across the PLUTO®, Bycosin and CP3500 product ranges. “Our recent acquisition program has placed us in a unique position.
