Siemens Gamesa to Take Care of Gemini Offshore Wind Farm until 2036

Wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa has secured an extension of the operations and maintenance services agreement at the 600-MW Gemini offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea until 2036.The company said in a social media post that the original 15-year long-term service program has been extended by another five years. First Wind Turbine Installed at Gemini Offshore Wind Park

The first wind turbine has been installed at the Gemini offshore wind park, off the coast of the Netherlands. The wind park will be completed in 2017, and will supply 785,000 households with renewable energy. The SOV, Yno 309, currently under construction at Ulstein Verft, will be servicing this park. On February 16, 2016, the first wind turbine was installed by Van Oord at the Gemini Offshore Wind Park, and it will soon begin producing electricity. In the coming months, a total of 150 wind turbines will be installed 85 kilometers off the coast of Groningen, the Netherlands.

New Version of Electronic Navigation Chart 'Analyzer'

The new version Analyzer 3.1 software, by SevenCs & L-3 Oceania, now offers improved user handling & new functionalities. The providers say that this is the market leading validation tool and is constantly being advanced to keep up with the latest official standards and user requirements. The setting dialogue now allows one custom rules set to be shared between multiple instances of ENC Analyzer, running on different machines. Included are editable tolerances to allow the user to set the precision for a range of checks. In addition, ENC Analyzer provides the option to include/exclude the validation of the UOC 3.0.0 SCAMIN policy.

The New ENC Analyzer is Now Available

A new version of ENC Analyzer, which implements over 900 individual checks, is now available. The new ENC Analyzer 3.0.0 can be supplemented with the optional Horizontal and Vertical Consistency (HVC) Module. The consistent encoding of features is one of the major challenges facing ENC producers. Cartographic principles that relate to individual charts also need to be applied to the seamless chart display, whether it is composed of one or multiple ENCs.
