Cyprus Gets EBRD Loan to Buy FSRU

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide an €80 million loan ($94,7 million), alongside EU and EIB financing, for a floating storage and regasification unit in CyprusThe EBRD is providing an €80 million loan to the Natural Gas Infrastructure Company of Cyprus (ETYFA) for the acquisition of an FSRU and the development of related infrastructure.The FSRU will be permanently anchored about 1.3 km off the coast of Limassol in Vasilikos Bay and will connect directly to the adjacent Vasilikos power station, the largest power plant in Cyprus. The EU is extending a €101 million grant for the project under the Connecting Europe Facility.

Sempra LNG, Aramco Sign Deal

Mitsui, Sempra Energy Sign LNG Deal

Cameron LNG Begins Commercial Service

Port Arthur LNG Gets Permits

U.S. energy company and LNG operator Sempra Energy said that its Port Arthur LNG export terminal has moved one step closer to obtaining a federal permit.The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released a positive environmental impact statement for the project on Thursday, clearing Port Arthur LNG for the next round of the review process.FERC report concluded the project “would result in some adverse environmental impacts, but these impacts would be reduced to less-than-significant levels.”In addition to the Port Arthur LNG project approval, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued the EIS for the Texas and Louisiana connector pipeline projects that will deliver natural gas to the new export facility…

India has formally taken over operations at Iran’s strategic Chabahar Port. PSA Marine to Provide LNG FSRU Services in Bangladesh

Summit Power International (SPI), Singapore, announced that its subsidiary, Summit LNG Terminal has awarded a 15-year contract to PSA Marine Bangladesh, a subsidiary of PSA Marine. Under the contract, PSA Marine Bangladesh will provide berthing, mooring, pilot and personnel transfer services to LNG ships calling at Summit LNG FSRU terminal, with its three escort tugboats, one fast crew boat and one offshore supply vessel. The award of this contract marks a significant milestone for PSA Marine and commencement of a long-term partnership with SPI. MAN Cryo to Supply LNG Bunkering for Swedegas

MAN Cryo, MAN Diesel & Turbo’s marine-LNG fuel-gas-system manufacturer, has signed a contract with Swedish infrastructure company, Swedegas, to deliver an LNG bunkering facility within the Port of Gothenburg. The new facility will enable vessels to bunker LNG from trucks or containers while simultaneously loading/unloading cargo at two jetties at the port’s Energy Port, dispensing with the need to make a separate refuelling stop. The solution offers increased flexibility for customers and LNG suppliers, and will be open for multiple suppliers.
