3sun Invests in Future Growth

Great-Yarmouth based 3sun Group, a specialist provider of products and services to the global energy industry, has reported a turnover of £13.7 million for the financial year 2012/13. The company’s turnover increased almost threefold from 2010/2011, going from £2.4million to £6.5million, and almost doubled from 2011/2012 with an increase to £11.4million. Its projected turnover for the 2013/14 financial year is on track to be £25million, following the recent acquisition of RRC Controls Services, an established manufacturer of subsea control systems for the offshore oil and gas industry.

Intertek, SOCAR Enter Service Sontract

Intertek has signed a contract with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to provide crude oil assay and gas analysis services. The information gathered will help shape the design and construction of their new Oil-Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex (OGPC) near Baku city. Intertek will perform a variety of services including sample gathering, testing locally in Baku and full crude assay analysis within its U.K. North Sea operations. The work will take around six months to complete. Intertek has undertaken work for various divisions within SOCAR for the past 16 years.

Cosalt, APRO Joint Venture in Renewables

Cosalt, provider of safety equipment for the marine, industrial and offshore markets, has signed a new joint venture agreement with Danish company APRO, an engineering services business with many years experience in the wind energy market. The partnership is designed to take advantage of the major growth expected in UK offshore wind energy. Cosalt recently set up a dedicated Renewable Energy division to supply inspection and testing services plus marine safety, lifting equipment, tooling and height safety products to the renewables sector, particularly offshore wind farms.
