ADS Maritime Holding Acquires 10% Stake in High-Spec Dive Support Vessel

ADS Maritime Holding said Wednesday it had acquired a 10% stake in a Dive Support Vessel and will act as Commercial Manager with primary responsibility for following up the shipowning company’s activities related to the vessel and the bareboat contract.The vessel “Southern Star” is a high spec DP3 Dive Support Vessel (“DSV”) built in 2017, suited for light subsea construction work (150t subsea crane) and advanced dive support work with accommodation for approximately 120 pax.

Maersk Training Pens 'Six-figure' Deal with Boskalis Subsea Services

Maersk Training has said it has won a six-figure contract to provide Training Management Services (TMS) for Boskalis Subsea Services’ 1000-strong global workforce. The contract is for three years with a two-year extension option.Maersk Training will deliver solutions for offshore survival, health, safety and environment, diving operations, and deck operations. Alongside simulation and practical exercises and activities, some of the offerings will also be delivered via Maersk Training’s e-Learning suite.Boskalis offers integrated subsea services to a varied client base throughout the offshore energy industry, operating a global fleet of diving and construction support vessels through a diverse range of Subsea IRM Services.

Harkand Signs Joint Venture in Angola

Harkand has signed a new joint venture agreement with ESOPEG Lda in Angola, its first strategic partnership in the country and third in the region as the global inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) company continues to strengthen its capabilities across West Africa. The newly formed company Harkand Angola Lda, based in Luanda, will focus on the development of local IRM capabilities and services in country, providing support and local content on both large major capital development projects and maintenance to existing ageing operations.

DOF Subsea to Launch AUV Service

Integrated subsea services provider DOF Subsea will stage the European launch of a new addition to its suite of services next week. Aquatic Completes First Carousel Project

Aquatic Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd, an Acteon company and subsidiary of Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd, inform it has successfully completed its new carousel, the AQCS-01-1500 maiden project. Harkand, Siem Offshore Sign Charter Agreement

Harkand has entered into a charter agreement with Siem Offshore for the Offshore Subsea Construction Vessel (OSCV) Siem Spearfish. The agreement covers a firm period of five years with three yearly options and shall commence in May 2014. The vessel will support the development of the Harkand group in the provision of inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) services in the deep water Gulf of Mexico. The DP2 vessel, built by Vard in Norway, has a 250t crane and will be fitted with two Triton XLX ROVs, as well as a complete survey spread. The Spearfish addition to the Harkand fleet marks an important step forward in the company’s commitment to deep water activities.

Harkand Ramps up Activity in Asia Pacific

Harkand has increased its presence in the burgeoning Asia Pacific region by securing a clutch of multimillion dollar contracts for execution in 2013/14. Under a deal with PTSC Offshore Services, the ROV support vessel Harkand Harmony has been deployed on its first charter since joining the fleet in August and is carrying out flexible lay operations in the Ruby Field, offshore Vietnam, with the charter expected complete in late November. The contract commenced in October with the work scope including a heavy duty Work ROV and provision of personnel.

Harkand Appoints New CEO

Internatioanl subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) group Harkand announced the appointment of John Reed as its new chief executive officer as it embarks on the next stage of its ambitious growth strategy. Reed, an industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in the offshore engineering and construction sector, will lead the development of the company as it drives forward with its target of growing turnover to $1 billion in the next five years. Due to take over the reins in October, he replaces Nicolas Mouté who steered the group’s formation since inception and through the merger of Iremis, Integrated Subsea Services (ISS) and Andrews Survey following investment by Oaktree Capital Management and the acquisition of Veolia Marine Services.

Harkand Launches ROV Support Vessel in Singapore

The newest ROV support vessel to service Asia Pacific’s oil and gas industry has been launched in Singapore. Around 100 invited guests from across the global energy sector attended the christening ceremony of the Harkand Harmony at Keppel Marina. Sophie Mottais-Trouve, the wife of Harkand’s Vice President of Commercial and Strategy Olivier Trouve, opened the festivities by officially naming the 65m vessel. The Harmony’s christening follows two major milestones for the group, Harkand said.

New Support Vessel and GM for Harkand

Harkand said it is pursuing its investment strategy in Asia Pacific with the addition of a multi-million dollar new build ROV support vessel and the appointment of a new general manager to lead future growth. In the first of two major milestones for the group, the Harkand Harmony has been secured on a three-year hire purchase that will see Harkand extend its inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) services in the growing Asia Pacific region. The 65-meter vessel, built by ASL Marine Holdings at Batam near Singapore, will be fitted with one Comanche workclass ROV for ROV support and air diving activities in the region, as well as a full survey kit and team for survey operations.

Harkand Appoints Chief Financial Officer

Harkand, the international subsea inspection, repair, maintenance and light construction group, has appointed Deborah Stevenson as the company’s new chief financial officer. A former CFO of both private equity-backed and FTSE 250 businesses in engineering and asset rich companies, Stevenson has particular experience of helping rapidly expanding businesses as they prepare for the next stage of growth. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales and an Associate Member of the Chartered Association of Corporate Treasurers, she will be based in Aberdeen with a remit for Harkand’s global operations. Harkand Set to Acquire Veolia Marine Services

Harkand, the international subsea inspection, repair, maintenance and light construction group, announced an agreement to acquire the main assets and business of Veolia Marine Services (VMS). The acquisition will add 150 onshore and offshore staff, three dynamically-positioned multi-purpose vessels (MSV), and six work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to Harkand’s growing workforce and fleet. Harkand Makes Several Senior Appointments

Harkand strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of three senior figures as the company embarks on the next stage in its growth strategy. Kevin Gorman has joined as vice president of HR. One of two new newly created group positions, his appointment will allow Harkand to strengthen its capacity as it looks to grow its current 750-strong global workforce. He is joined by new group general counsel Colin Forbes. John Ewen has been appointed general manager for Harkand ISS, which serves Europe, Harkand’s largest region. All three posts will be based in Aberdeen.

Massive ROV Fleet Expansion by Harkand

The Harkand Group signs a deal with Forum Subsea Technologies that will see it extend its ROV fleet by 25% & create 30 new full time jobs. Harkand, formed through the recent merger of Iremis, Integrated Subsea Services (ISS) and Andrews Survey following investment by Oaktree Capital Management, has bases in Aberdeen in the UK, Dubai in the Middle East and Singapore and Perth in Asia Pacific. The program, which on delivery will see Harkand’s fleet grow to 29 vehicles, includes three Triton XLX 150HP workclass ROVs and one Comanche, with an option for a further two XLX vehicles.

Latest GEOSHIPS Vessel Secures Multimillion Pounds Worth of Contracts

GEOSHIPS Group has announced two contract wins worth a combined value of £3 million for the company’s latest vessel. Following an open day on-board the Loch Roag for potential clients, the vessel secured work in the North Sea with two new customers for GEOSHIPS. The forecasted revenue for the DP2 (dynamically positioned) multi purpose support vessel for the next 12 months is valued at nearly £10 million. The Westhill-based company, which was formed in 2003, took delivery of the Loch Roag in April on a contract valued at over £30 million. It resulted in the employment of 40 new offshore staff.
