Coast Guard crews medically evacuated a fisherman at approximately 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, approximately two miles west of Block Island, R.I. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England received a notification at 7:52 a.m. from the fishing vessel Explorer, homeported in New Bedford, Mass., reporting that a crewmember sustained a head injury due to the parting of a wire.
