The Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal will ship its first cargo later than initially thought, according to an announcement by Cheniere Energy Partners LP. The Houston-based company now forecasts that its first shipment will not leave its Sabine Pass plant until late February or March 2016, a slip from a planned January departure. Construction of the first liquefaction train at the terminal was completed ahead of schedule, Cheniere said, but the firm said that new instrumentation issues discovered during commissioning will take several weeks to address. "We are now expecting the first cargo in late February or March," said Neal Shear, Interim President and CEO. Despite the delay, the Sabine Pass facility is slated to be the first in the lower 48 states to ship LNG overseas.

American Commercial Lines Inc. (ACL) (Nasdaq: ACLI) announced that it has entered into a long-term industrial development lease agreement with O'Rourke Marine Services, LP of Houston, Texas. Under the lease agreement, O'Rourke will provide full-service towboat fueling and lubricant services to the inland marine industry from ACL's property in Channelview, Texas. The agreement provides O'Rourke with a strategic operating location in the Houston ship channel. In addition to fueling and lubricant services, O'Rourke will collect used oil and bilge discharge at their new facility.

Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc., New Orleans, La., has shipped the first four of 20 marine models of General Motors totally new EMD 16-265H diesel engines and generators to Yantai Raffles Shipyard PTE, LTD in China for installation in the MV John P. LABORDE. It is the first of five new 282-ft., diesel electric anchor handling/tug supply boats (AH/TS) under construction for Tidewater Marine, Inc., New Orleans, La. The four EMD generator sets in each vessel will produce a total of 24,000 hp (or 17,200 kilowatts of electrical power) required for the boats’ diesel-electric propulsion, dynamic positioning, winching, towing and other systems as well as hotel loads. The generator sets utilize generators manufactured by the Baylor Division of National Oilwell, LP of Houston, Texas.
