Rapp Marine Deck Equipment Rounds out New Harley Barges

Rapp’s workboat market offerings span the full range of operator requirements. Their latest contract provides a turnkey package. Long known for delivering innovative and custom deck machinery solutions to a wide range of marine stakeholders, Rapp Marine recently was tasked with providing not one, but two complete equipment package for West coast-based Harley Marine Services (HMS). ACE Winches Delivered Back Deck Solution to Saipem

Deck machinery specialist, ACE Winches has delivered and engineered a back deck solution for Saipem. Working to a tight deadline of three and half weeks, ACE Winches worked in conjunction with Scantrol AS to supply a deck machinery solution which included an Active Heave Compensation winch and A-frame solution that will be used as an auxiliary deep water deployment system for subsea equipment. The deck machinery equipment was engineered and manufactured at ACE Winches facilities in Aberdeenshire and was mobilized to Saipem for work scheduled for 2017 and beyond.

Superior Adds Primary Crusher to Processing Portfolio

Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, has unveiled a new machinery solution for crushing applications called the Liberty Jaw Crusher. Functioning as a primary crusher, the unit compresses material in stone, concrete, asphalt, and ore applications. Superior acquired the original design in their 2015 acquisition of Canadian-based Clemro Western. After collecting customer feedback, Superior engineers redesigned the unit and added a number of new features.

Wärtsilä RT-flex Engines Achieve 1000 Orders Milestone

Wärtsilä has received its 1000th order for the 2-stroke, electronically controlled, common-rail low-speed diesel engine. The 1000th order will power an efficient Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) tanker being built for JX Tanker Company Limited, the Yokohama, Japan based major tanker company. The 310.000 DWT vessel is being built at the IHI Marine United Inc., Kure shipyard, and is scheduled for delivery in 2014. The engine will be manufactured by Diesel United, Ltd. (DU), a Wärtsilä licensee in Japan.
