Wärtsilä to Optimize GasLog's LNG Carriers

Wärtsilä informs it has signed a maintenance agreement with the GasLog LNG Services Limited that aims to ensure the reliability of operation of GasLog's seven LNG carriers, each having a cargo capacity of 155,000 cbm. According to Wärtsilä, the demand for predictive analytics and advisory services is increasing. By analyzing the data collected from GasLog's vessels, Wärtsilä said it is able to provide valuable information regarding the condition of the equipment, which enables GasLog to optimize maintenance and asset performance.

LR Launches Distance Learning Training Program

Lloyd’s Register has launched an interactive, CD-ROM distance learning training program for shipboard staff, produced in co-operation with leading training technology organisation Videotel Interactive. The new program has been designed and produced as an integral component of Lloyd’s Register’s Hull Planned Maintenance Scheme (HPMS), one of several maintenance management services the Lloyd’s Register Group offers to enable shipboard staff to take a more active role in the classification process. HPMS is an alternative hull survey regime for selected ship types based on the alignment and integration of classification requirements with an operator’s existing hull inspection and maintenance programme.
