EMD, MaK Asia Expand Marine Offering

Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD), part of Progress Rail Services Corporation, a Caterpillar company, announced MaK Asia will be adding the EMD 710 two-cycle engine to their marine sales portfolio. This expands MaK Asia’s engine offerings while providing EMD customers in Asia with a local support channel. Marintec 2013 will be the first tradeshow featuring the new distribution. Brian Grinter, director of EMD’s Power Products sales business, reflected on the benefits of utilizing MaK Asia, “EMD Power Products is excited to have MaK Asia as part of the team. Naisby to Lead Caterpillar Marine in Asia

Caterpillar Marine Power Systems appointed Alan Naisby as MaK Asia Managing Director based in Shanghai, China. Naisby brings 30 years of business development, sales, marketing, and management experience in the diesel engine industry. Prior to joining Caterpillar, he was with Rostra Precision Controls and Lucas Industries, including management experiences in the UK, USA, and Korea. After joining Caterpillar in 1998, Naisby managed a variety of marketing teams in the USA and Germany for Caterpillar Fuel Systems.
