Herman Senior Acquires ST Marine Support

Netherlands-based tug and workboat company Herman Senior has acquired all shares of maritime and offshore services provider ST Marine Support. The acquisition includes ST’s three existing vessels and their upcoming newbuild, a Damen Multi Cat 3313SD, which is expected to be delivered at the end of March this year. With the formal handover completed on February 23, the acquisition has come into effect retroactively as of January 1, 2023.With this agreement ST Marine Support becomes part of the Herman Senior group of companies, integrating both fleets.

Belgium's Exmar Loss Deepens as it Seeks LNG Ship Charterer

Belgian shipowner Exmar reported a wider loss in the first quarter of 2022 as it continued to seek a user to charter one of its giant liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships.Exmar, which offers maritime and offshore services, reported a consolidated loss after tax of $7.7 million in the first three months, against a loss of $2.2 million a year earlier.Earnings were hit by two of Exmar's mammoth floating storage and regasification units (FSRU) being out of use during the quarter, but…

Drydocks World to Participate in SMM 2014

Drydocks World Inks Agreement with DNV GL

Drydocks World Repairs Self-elevated Crane Vessel

Drydocks World, an international provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors, completed major repair and refurbishment of National Drilling Company’s (NDC) self-elevated crane vessel Al Ghweifat at its Dubai-based shipyard. The 165 ft x 140 ft x 15 ft self-elevated crane vessel has undergone extensive maintenance related repair and refurbishment. Extensive maintenance performed on the three Truss type 260-feet long legs including the spud can, which would enable the vessel to attain peak performance at 157 feet of water.

VOS Sweet Named at Oranjewerf Shiprepair Amsterdam

Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) new Subsea Support Vessel was named at Oranjewerf Shiprepair Amsterdam, part of Damen Shipyards Group, on February 8th, 2013. The vessel called at Oranjewerf early January after a voyage from China to The Netherlands to undergo a series of modifications at the shipyard. The new vessel is named after a Rolling Stones song. Among the various modifications Oranjewerf executed are the installation of a 24 tonnes crane and a fully equipped workplace in the aft.
