The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposes to amend its rules to allow VHF public coast (VPC) and automated maritime telecommunications system (AMTS) station licensees to provide private mobile radio service to units on land. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a Notice stating that it will auction ten automated maritime telecommunications system (AMTS) licenses commencing August 3, 2005.
