Crowley Awards Scholarships to Four USMMA Cadets

Crowley recently honored four U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) cadets with Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships during the Containerization and Intermodal Institute’s Connie Awards on December 6 in Newark, N.J.Cadets Breanna Frank, Nathan Mathes, A.J. Poznanski and Erin Roberts were awarded the memorial scholarship based on their interest in pursuing a career at sea, as well as their service during their sea year aboard a Crowley-owned or -managed vessel.Midshipman First Class Breanna Frank, from Sidney, Mont., is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in maritime logistics and security.

Two Texas A&M Students Earn Crowley Scholarships

Crowley Maritime Corp. has awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships to Mavry Sepulvado and Andrew Hubert of the Texas A&M University Maritime Academy. The recipients earned the scholarships based on their academic performance, cadet shipping experience and interest in pursuing a career at sea.Sepulvado, a senior from New Caney, Texas, is pursuing a degree in marine transportation. He is a first-generation college student and serves as treasurer for the Triathlon Club. Sepulvado served his sea term aboard the Crowley-managed tanker Golden State.

Four cadets at State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College have been awarded Thomas B. Crowley Memorial Scholarships to help further their educational opportunities, Crowley Maritime Corp. announced. Recipients Jacob Ennerfelt, John Szczecinski, Gabrielle McCracken and Kent Napoliello, who will each sail with Crowley this summer, were chosen based on their demonstrated leadership skills, financial need and plans to pursue a career in the marine engineering or shipping industries after graduation.

Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships during last night’s Containerization and Intermodal Institute’s Connie Awards dinner in Long Beach, Calif. Crowley’s Jenny Terpenning, recruiter, marine personnel, presented the awards to recipients, Christiana Harrell, Bonnie Claire Muchnick, Taylor Sullivan and Alex Yorkman. The scholarships help to further educational opportunities for the students who were chosen based on their academic performance, financial need and interest in pursuing a career at sea after graduation. Christiana Harrell, a sophomore from Big Bear City, Calif., is pursuing a degree in marine transportation with a minor in marine science. She plans to sail after graduation.

Four students from Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) have been awarded Crowley Maritime Corp.’s Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships. Chosen based on their academic achievement, financial need and plans to pursue a career in the maritime industry, the four recipients are Patrick Goldsmith, Jack McMurrer, Paige Mentuck and Christina Murphy. Goldsmith, a junior from Huntington, N.Y., is majoring in marine engineering and minoring in international maritime business. He is a Dean’s List member and has earned his USCG 50 Ton Master license with a towing endorsement.

Crowley Scholarship for Three Texas A&M Students

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s 2016 Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships are helping to further educational opportunities for three students of Texas A&M University, all of whom are enrolled in the college’s License Option program and have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the towing or petroleum shipping industry after graduation. The three recipients, each of whom have either sailed with Crowley or are scheduled to do so, were chosen based on their demonstrated leadership skills and financial need. The awardees are Texas natives Bradley Schein from Houston and Baylor Nix from Austin along with Benjamin Miner from San Martin, Calif.

Crowley Scholarships Aid Four UW Students

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships to four seniors studying at the University of Washington’s (UW) Michael G. Foster School of Business. The students, Joshua Banks, Kainen Bell, Maninder Grewal and Xuan Liao, were each chosen to receive a $2,500 scholarship for the 2015-2016 academic year based on their demonstrated financial need, community involvement and leadership skills. Joshua Banks, a two-time Crowley scholarship recipient is currently studying finance and entrepreneurship at UW.

Four CMA Cadets Awarded Crowley Scholarships

Four California Maritime Academy (CMA) cadets were awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial scholarships from the Crowley Maritime Corporation. The scholarships were presented to cadets Andrew Leonard, Griffin Sims, Bonnie Claire Muchnick and Alex Yonkman by Crowley’s manager for marine development and compliance, Vicky Ellis, at Tuesday’s Containerization & Intermodal Institute’s Connie Awards Dinner in Long Beach, Calif. “Crowley is proud to support the education of these cadets and future leaders in the U.S. maritime industry,” Ellis said. Leonard, from Glendale, Ariz., is a senior at CMA.

The four recipients, Bryan P. Wall, Robert M. Neal, Peter Persechino and Adam Szloch, were chosen based on their excellent grades, demonstrated financial need and plans to pursue a career in the maritime industry, Crowley said. Wall is a freshman from Manasquan, N.J., majoring in marine transportation.

Crowley Gives Scholarships to Two Student Employees

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships to two University of North Florida (UNF) students who are also currently part-time employees with the company. UNF seniors Olivia Musselwhite and Matthew Petrone each received $2,500 towards their continued education. Leonora Bojko-Sosa and Kathy Lonetto, human resources representatives for Crowley, recognized the two at an annual reception on November 7 at the University Center on the UNF campus in Jacksonville.

Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships: Firstly for two students at the University of North Florida (UNF), and secondly to four  students at University of Washington’s (UW) Foster School of Business.
