Has Green Hydrogen Sprung a Leak?

The green hydrogen express is gathering pace, but it may have a worrying problem with leaks. As governments and energy companies line up big bets on the much-touted fuel of the future, some scientists say the lack of data on leaks and the potential harm they could cause is a blind spot for the nascent industry. At least four studies published this year say hydrogen loses its environmental edge when it seeps into the atmosphere. Two scientists told Reuters that if 10% leaks during its production…

New Product: Rhosonics CLAMP-IN Pipe Integration System

Rhosonics debuts a pipe integration system for the Slurry Density Meter (SDM) – the Clamp-In, designed to make it easy to remove the sensor without interrupting the process. The Clamp-In allows the installation of existing pipes in the process: plastic pipes, metal pipes or even pipes with internal liners. All necessary mounting materials are supplied with the product, including the drill for making the hole in the pipe. One of the main features of this system is the "hot-tap"…

Newport News Orders Largest All-Electric Pipe Bender

Unison has received an order from Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), the supplier of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and one of two shipbuilders of nuclear-powered submarines for the U.S. Navy, for an all-electric CNC machine capable of bending large-bore tubing and piping up to eight inches in diameter (219mm OD). The machine will be the first of its type ever built, extending the shipbuilder’s range of precision software-controlled bending facilities to include fabrication of larger diameter pipes that previously could only be bent on very high torque hydraulic machines.
