Tundra MDS Completes Stage 1 of ISO 14001:2004

Tundra Maritime Defense Services (MDS), the maritime division of Tundra Group, announced that it has completed Stage 1 of the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certification process conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Tundra MDS’s Integrated Management System (IMS) is already certified to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 28000:2007 and ISO/PAS 28007:2012. Recognized worldwide, ISO 14001 confirms an organization is effectively managing and mitigating its impact on the environment. Tundra’s environmental management system (EMS) is a continuous cycle of planning, implementation, review, and improvement of actions carried out to achieve stated business and environmental goals. OHSAS 18001 Certification verifies that an organization effectively provides a safe and healthy workplace.

Private Maritime Security Firm, Tundra, Attains LRQA Certification

Tundra Maritime Defense Services (MDS), has been certified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) to ISO/PAS 28007, the Guidelines for Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSCs). The certification, explains Tundra, gives established guidelines to private maritime security companies (PMSC) that supply privately contracted armed security personnel (PCASP) on board ships. Certification to these standards demonstrates to the international community that Tundra MDS can legally, safely and effectively guard seafarers, their vessels and cargo.
