Wärtsilä to Deliver Hybrid Propulsion Solutions for Misje Bulk Carrier Trio

Finnish marine equipment and technology provider Wärtsilä has won a contract to deliver an integrated hybrid propulsion solution for three new Misje Rederi bulk carriers. Wärtsilä said its extensive experience in marine hybrid propulsion solutions "will enable a greatly decreased emissions footprint for three newbuild eco-friendly 5,000 dwt bulk carriers." The 90 meters long ships are being built at the Colombo Dockyard in Sri Lanka for Misje Eco Bulk, a unit of Norway based Misje Rederi group.

MV Kaami, a general cargo vessel salvaged six miles off the northwest coast of Skye, Scotland after running aground in March, has been dismantled and recycled in Kishorn.Built in 1994, the 89.8-meter vessel, owned by Norway’s Misje Rederi, was sailing under the flag of Bahamas when it ran aground on March 23 this year. Japan Radio Supplies Misje Rederi AS ECDIS Retrofit

ProNav, the Norwegian distributor for Japan Radio Company Ltd. (JRC), was awarded a contract for supplying twenty two ECDIS systems to the entire fleet of Norwegian shipowner Misje Rederi AS. All eleven dual-systems will be supplied and commissioned by Brommeland Elektronikk AS, a part of ProNav's professional sales- and service network. The JRC ECDIS systems are supplied through a leasing program, and Misje Rederi is one of several other shipping companies finding this program as a good solution. Cost-wise it enables the possibilities to have the latest technology in the complete fleet at the same time, the company said, which again is beneficial in regards to type specific training, crew-changes, service etc.
