SENER Develops Multipurpose Subsea Support Vessel

Operators are demanding more efficient, less consuming and more capable vessels, while shipbuilders need to achieve it in a very competitive environment. As a ship design firm, SENER says it plays an important role offering value to all stakeholders, with innovative designs taking in consideration operators' and builders' requirements. SENER is currently developing a new multipurpose subsea support vessel specially designed for subsea remotely operated vehicle (ROV) light construction duties, for worldwide service.

MOBY Acquires Vessel DFDS

An agreement for the acquisition of a new unit has been defined today between Moby Spa and the Danish company DFDS, one of the leading European maritime operators. The ship, called “Prince of Scandinavia”, will be named Moby Drea and will operate on the Livorno-Olbia-Livorno itinerary. Moby Drea, that will join the 15 units of Moby fleet, will arrive in Italy mid December to undergo a complete technical and structural refit and will already start operating end of May 2004. With a speed of 24 knots, a capacity of 1.800 pax and 450 car places, it is equipped with 400 cabins, 300 seats, restaurant, self service, piano bar, cafeteria, pizzeria, pool, solarium and Happy Moby, an area equipped with maxi-screen, games and video-games specifically dedicated to children and teenagers.
