Radio Holland's NavCom for Six Malaysian Patrol Crafts

Radio Holland  Malaysia (RHM) secured a contract from Destini Shipbuilding & Engineering for the supply of Navigation and Communication equipment on board of six New Generation Patrol Crafts (NGPC). The vessels are being built for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA). The scope of work encompasses detailed design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the Navigation and Communication equipment including the Steering System and Thermal Cameras. The vessels will play an important role in maritime search and rescue operations.

Singer Appointed Non-Executive Director, Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce today announced the appointment of Bradley Singer as a Non-Executive Director. He will join the Board with immediate effect and will become a member of the Science and Technology Committee. Brad is a Partner and Chief Operating Officer of ValueAct Capital, the San Francisco based Investment Company. ValueAct Capital is currently the largest investor in Rolls-Royce with a shareholding of 10.8%. NY/NJ Port Authority Orders Two Vessels from Moose Boats

Moose Boats, a boat designer and manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area, recently finalized contract specifications with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the construction of two M2-35 Outboard Catamarans for Patrol and Emergency Rescue Response in the waters surrounding JFK and LaGuardia International Airports. The M2-35 aluminum catamarans will be powered by twin Yamaha 350hp outboards, are equipped with a self-contained Darley fire pump and are each capable of carrying and deploying 20 twelve-person life rafts.

Viking Welding Delivers Fire/Rescue Boats

Fire Departments in South Carolina and Minnesota have recently accepted delivery of Response FR-28 and FR-31J boats built of welded aluminum by Viking Welding & Fabrication in Kensington, N.H. The boats were designed by Response Marine in Newburyport, Mass. The FR-28 specifications were developed by Mount Pleasant Fire Department in South Carolina to improve firefighting and rescue capability in the coastal areas surrounding Mount Pleasant, which include Charleston Harbor, Gray Bay and Hamlin Sound. Moose Boats, a boat designer and manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area, delivered the 70th Moose Boat built, a M2-37 Catamaran Patrol Boat to San Francisco Police Department. The M2-37 all aluminum catamaran will be powered by twin Cummins QSB6.7L 425hp turbo diesel engines coupled to twin Hamilton HJ292 water-jets. The cabin is outfitted with shock mitigating seating for three personnel, a generous workstation, an array of Furuno navigation equipment, Motorola and Icom communications equipment and FLIR gyro-stabilized thermal imaging equipment with a dedicated Nauticomp display screen.

Almar by North River Boats Inc. of Roseburg, Ore. announced the recent delivery of a 30-ft by 10-ft Sounder / Fire Boat. This boat was built to NFPA 1925 standards and the fire suppression system was UL Certified prior to delivery. The boat is equipped with twin Honda 225 hp four stroke outboards for its main propulsion system and powers the 30-ft vessel at greater than 32 knots. A single 200 gallon fuel tank supplies the propulsion engines, fire engine and genset. A raised aft deck provides ample working area for the crew and houses the 8.1L 375 hp engine and 1,500 gpm Darley fire pump.

The pilot house is equipped with two Coleman Seamach air conditioning units, a stand up head with electric toilet and wash basin for the comfort of the crew. The vessel is also equipped with a Ray Marine RAY 430 Hailer, Motorola Pro 5100 VHF radio, Motorola Pro 5100 UHF radio, Furuno FA150 AIS system, Ritchie Voyager D84 compass, and L.E.D. SeaArk Boat for Guntersville Fire Department, Ala.

SeaArk Marine, Inc. has delivered a 30-ft Enforcer Series all-welded aluminum fire/rescue boat to the Guntersville, Ala. Fire Department. The boat features a modified vee, constant deadrise hull that produces a smooth, dry and stable ride. These characteristics were given a high priority by the Guntersville Fire Department in order to ensure required fast response times, capability for all-weather fire fighting and maneuvering on-station requirements were met. The boat is tasked for fire/rescue/recovery missions on Lake Guntersville (69,000 acre lake) and the Tennessee River.

Willingham Joins Tidewater’s Management Team

Tidewater Inc. (NYSE: TDW) announced that Deborah Willingham has joined Tidewater as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Willingham will report to Chairman, President and CEO Dean Taylor, and will be responsible for worldwide Human Resources for the company.
