Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc., a nonprofit educational organization honoring the achievements of outstanding individuals and encouraging youth to pursue their dreams through higher education, today announced that Donald T. “Boysie” Bollinger, Chairman and CEO of Bollinger Enterprises, LLC and retired Chairman and CEO of Bollinger Shipyards, has been selected for membership in this prestigious organization. Mr. Bollinger joins 12 other exceptional business, civic and cultural leaders from across North America in receiving 2023 honors.

A U.S. Navy World War II PT boat, which was recently restored and rebuilt by volunteers at The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, has been equipped with modern state-of-the-art battery chargers from Newmar. After more than a decade of volunteer-provided planning and restoration work, PT-305 motored to its new home in a custom-built boathouse on Lake Pontchartrain March 25, where visitors can tour and arrange rides on the fully functioning vessel. During the US Department of Transportation Maritime Administration (MARAD) Annual Ship Managers Executive Meeting, president Ivan Radovic of NOVACES was awarded for outstanding teamwork and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Ready Reserve Force using the principles of Lean Six Sigma. The event was held at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. Lean Six Sigma is a combination of two business improvement techniques. Lean focuses on eliminating waste and reducing cycle time, while Six Sigma focuses on improving quality and reducing variation.
