ONE Orders 10 Containerships

Japanese shipping company Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd (ONE) on Wednesday announced it has ordered 10 new 13,700 TEU vessels for delivery in 2025 and 2026, adding more tonnage to the industry's crowded containership orderbook.ONE, which is jointly owned by the Japanese shipping lines Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line), did not reveal financial details or where the vessels will be constructed.The 10 new vessels will be ready for methanol and ammonia fuel and equipped with a bow cover and other energy saving technologies, ONE said.

Atlas Receives $3.64 Billion Takeover Offer from Poseidon

Singapore-headquartered container carrier Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) said it has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Japan's Shoei Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. for the 15-year charter of six new ultra large containerships (ULCS). Japanese shipping giant Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that it conducted a tabletop drill based on an incident simulation involving an MOL-owned containership.MOL holds these drills periodically to confirm its emergency response system in preparation for serious marine incidents, said a press release.The drill was held on Thursday, October 10, with the goal of raising company-wide safety awareness through the simulation of a serious marine incident. Yang Ming Launches Japan-Thailand Service

Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation enhances its Intra-Asia service network by launching a new Japan–Thailand service (JT1) effective from September 11th, 2019.The JT1 service will call at Shimizu, Tokyo, Yokohama, Pusan, Laem Chabang. It will directly link Laem Chabang with Japanese ports and Pusan.The new weekly service will be added to Yang Ming’s network through a space swap program with Ocean Network Express Pte. NYK Bulk Shipping Records Lower Profit

Japanese shipping and logistics company Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) said that its bulk Shipping division recorded lower profit than previous year.In the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2020 (April 1, 2019, to June 30, 2019), its revenues from the bulk shipping  amounted to 195.1 billion yen registering -11.3 decrease compared to the same period last year. Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) has announced that ONE Grus, with a carrying capacity of 14,000 TEU, has been successfully delivered at Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation. The sublet owner is Nippon Yusen Kaisha. This is ONE’s first delivery this year, and the 5th newly built 14,000 TEU magenta containership, after ONE Columba (delivery date on November 16th, 2018). ONE Accepts Delivery of 14,000 TEU Box Ship

Singapore headquartered container carrier Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) has taken delivery of a new 14,000 TEU-class containership from Japanese shipbuilder Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, on July 24, 2018.The new ultra-large containership, One Minato, was built at Imabari’s Hiroshima yard and joins the ONE fleet under sublet from Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd.

ONE Stakeholders Announce Completion of Investment Payment

Japan's Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha have announced the completion of payment for investment in their new joint venture in the container shipping business, Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE). The JV was established in July 2017, with service commencing on April 1, 2018 with a total investment of USD 3 billion. The JV will be offering 85 services, calling at over 200 ports in 100 countries. K Line and MOL each hold 31 pct stake in the JV, while NYK participates with 38 pct share. ONE has about 230 vessels in its fleet totaling 1.44 million TEUs, making it the world’s sixth-largest container shipping line.

Ocean Network Express Completes Merger Approvals

South Africa’s competition watchdog becomes final signatory allowing Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL ),  Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK ) merger, so that Joint venture (JV) can start operations on April 1. "K Line, MOL and NYK have  announced that their new joint venture company, Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd., established in July 2017, has received all necessary merger approvals from local competition authorities in regions and countries where such approvals are required for the launch of service by the newly established joint venture company," said a press statement. The green light makes ONE the sixth-largest ocean carrier.
